The UCSB Surf Team has been around for a while and is the most highly decorated college surf team in the nation with 14 National Titles, the last one claimed last year in June, 2010. This year, after 4 preliminary contests held in San Diego, Huntington Beach and Ventura, the surf team managed to secure an overall win. Even with a second place finish in the State Competition in March, they still hung to that place. Yet as the defending National champs, they will be aiming to finish strong, especially since they will be saying goodbye to a few seniors who have helped in these wins: Kevin Osborne (2009 National Longboarding champion), Lipoa Kahaleuahi (2010 National Women's Champion), and Lily Howard (#4 in Women's Division), as well as Dylan LaCom, Austin Ramsdell, Paul Steinberg, Lars Rathje, Tina Nguyen.
