The mission of the UCSB Recreational Sports Athletic Training program is to provide quality healthcare for Sport Club athletes. Our goal is to provide athletes with first aid care, rehabilitation services, injury prevention, and health education. The student athletic training internship program provides an ideal environment for student interns to gain valuable experience in the field of sports medicine, while maintaining high standards of professionalism.

The training room is staffed by student interns who are supervised by the certified athletic trainer, Rob Wang. Together, the certified athletic trainer and student athletic trainers work to serve 22 Sport Club teams. These teams include field hockey, lacrosse, rugby, cycling, triathlon, and many more. Our facilities in the training room are designed to treat for minor injuries. We also provide rehabilitation services, as well as injury prevention programs. If an athlete cannot be treated at the training room, we refer them to UCSB Student Health Services. Modalities we provide in the training room include: ice, heat, ultra sound, electric stimulation, ice baths, taping, and general first aid. We also attend games and special events to provide care as athletic trainers.
