15362_788314773747_3625829_45120429_6112729_nThe Exercise-A-Thon will be a diverse event displaying both the breadth and depth of the Exercise and Sports Studies department. We will be showcasing all of the programs and classes that will either be cut back upon or lost if the ESS department is closed. Also, community members will attest to the importance of the volunteers produced through the department. There will be music, food, circuit training, course informational sessions and guest speakers all afternoon. We will also be handing out t-shirts. To top it off, we will be holding drawings for Giveaway items throughout the event. Some of the event giveaways are:

-Free Personal Training Sessions
-Free Leisure Review Vouchers
-Autographed Michael Jordan basketball
-Autographed Basketball signed by the LA Lakers (includes Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and others!)
-And much more

This is a huge opportunity for us as students to fight back against the University's decision to close the Exercise and Sports Studies department. University officials are elected to represent the students and their best interests, however they have not done their job in making this decision. Let's get out there and present to the university just how passionate we are about this department. Let our actions and presence show how important exercise is to our experience at UCSB along with how much these courses prepare us for the real world in any career path we may pursue.

See the Facebook Event too for more information!
