Event Center (Thunderdome)

The Event Center at UCSB is not only home to the men’s and women’s intercollegiate basketball and volleyball teams, but also to thousands of UCSB students who take to the court every quarter for intramural basketball.


Harder Stadium

This is the legendary stadium at UCSB home of the national champion NCAA men’s soccer team. This is the largest stadium on campus and has held crowds over 10,000 and has a capacity of 17,000. Harder is located behind the new graduate housing and next the baseball field. It plays host to club rugby, soccer, lacrosse, and also for the Div I men’s and women’s soccer. This field is not open for recreational use but always has events going on from club or Div I sports to Extravaganza.

Pavilion Gymnasium

Description:

Located in between the Rec Cen Main Gym and the MAC, Pavilion Gym is used for a variety of sports.  Intramural sports host volleyball, badminton, table tennis during the school year and basketball in the summer.  When it is not being used for intramural sports the gym is open to all students to use for recreation.  It has two basketball courts and can be set up for volleyball and badminton.

The Pavilion Gym is used daily as for recreation basketball and/or volleyball. If the courts are not being used, just simply ask a Rec Cen staff member to change the court to fit the sport of your choosing. Pavilion is also the home to intramural volleyball, table tennis, and badminton.

The racquetball/squash courts are located directly to the right of the front desk. They are open to all recreation.

Recreational Center (Main Building)

Description:

This is the largest building used for recreation. It includes two gyms, four basketball courts, five racquetball courts, two squash courts, pools and a spa, locker rooms for men and women, and office buildings for the UCSB recreation staff. Intramural racquetball is the only sport that interferes with recreational use. Also there are weightlifting classes that take place in the mornings at the gyms within the facility, but this only while school is in session. Hours of the facility are M-F 6:30am-11:00pm, Sat 8:00am-10:00pm, and Sun 9:00am-11:00pm. The pool closes at 9:00pm M-F and at 8:30 on weekends. The hours apply for all facilities at the Rec Cen including MAC and Pavilion.

Recreational Center - Multi Activity Court (MAC)

Description:

The MAC is the most versatile court at UCSB. It is located in the back building of the UCSB Rec Cen. The court can handle a number of sports including: roller hockey, indoor soccer, indoor lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball. The MAC is used for intramural soccer, club roller hockey, and lacrosse practice. When it is not being used for intramural and club sports it is open for recreation where you can chose what you want to play. Hours are the same as the main building.

The Rec Cen Multi Activities Court (MAC) is located inside the UCSB Recreation Center.  It is home to the Adventure Program office, a workout facility with cardio and weight training, a roller hockey rink, and a climbing wall affiliated with Adventure Programs.

Robertson Field

Description:

Rob Field is the large turf field located in front of the UCSB Rec Cen.  This field one of the most used fields at UCSB.  It is used for all sorts of events from intramural and club sports, to Greek events and local teams use.  There are two full soccer fields painted in and goals for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey.  The field is used for soccer, rugby, lacrosse, ultimate, field hockey and any other sport that can be played on turf.  Lights turn off at 11:00pm.

Robertson Field #4

This field has not yet been constructed.  It was recently passed in this years elections to add a fourth field onto Rob Field.  More information about the construction and finish date will be posted as soon as possible.

Robertson Gymnasium

Description:

This gymnasium is the home of the Gaucho men’s and women’s volleyball team.  Located in front of the turf fields, Rob Gym is another multi-use facility.  It is used for Intercollegiate Athletics for volleyball, gymnastics, intramural sports, and recreation.  There are two basketball courts, and retractable bleachers on both sides.  When it is not being used for practices or intramural sports, it is open for recreation.  Hours 9:00am-11:00pm.

Storke Field

Description:

Storke Field is located between the graduate housing and Harder Stadium. It is a large grassfield that plays host to many sports and events. The field is lined for soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse, and also has back-stops for softball. Storke plays host to club sports, intramural sports, alumni events, local sports, and is also open for recreational use to anyone. There are also no lights here so when the sun goes down it is closed.
