What is LTC?
LTC is a practical, hands-on course designed to give you the skills and experience be a successful outdoor adventure leader. LTC spans two quarters: Fall and Winter. The Fall quarter is devoted to giving participants hands-on experience and skills, including canoeing the Colorado River, canyoneering, kayaking, playing on a ropes course, and rock climbing. Winter quarter takes those experiences into the classroom, where participants will discuss and learn about leadership skills, group dynamics, risk management, trip logistics, wilderness first-aid, and much more. Finally, participants will propose, organize, and execute their own group backpacking trip.
After successful completion of LTC, participants are chosen to become part of Adventure Programs Staff.
