This trip has been designed for people who want to learn how to camp overnight on a kayak trip. The distances on this trip are reasonable for beginners and the scenery is beautiful and secluded.

Participants will meet at UCSB’s Campus Point on Saturday and then drive to Gaviota to launch. After packing the kayaks, the trip will begin with a breathtaking tour along the coast with a lunch stop along the way. The campsite will be in one of the state park campgrounds along the way. On Sunday, the kayaking will continue along the coast to return to Campus Point.

The fee includes kayaking equipment, transportation, breakfast and dinner, group cooking equipment, camping fees, and trip guides. Participants must supply their own lunches and personal equipment.

There is a prerequisite of Ocean Kayaking I or an equivalent. Participants must be able to swim for this trip.
